Thank you Session 1 Camp Dancers

The Cannon Falls School of Dance completed its first of three summer camps on June 29th.  There were four great camps from Jungle, Jazz, PBT and Ballet that our school offered.

Several dancers really enjoyed the classes and will be back for session 2 (July 10-13) and the Nutcracker camp (August 8-11) .  Dance is fun and great summer opportunity and during the school year.

Pictured our PBT class from session 1.  It’s perfectly suited for for all dancers to enhance their techique by strengthing muscle with the use of yoga balls and resustance band and increasing range of motion and great flexability.

Also, session 2 offers the Jungle camp designed for the young dancers that likes jumping on the bed and exploring dance through a rainforest theme.

Pictured our ballet camp students.  Session 2 will continue ballet instruction through story ballet learning dances will Firebird and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  They will be indivudual and group dances taught for this class.

Finally, two new classes for session 2 – swing and Latin dance and even something for adults in the community with beginning ballroom dance.  You can still regieter online through July 8th or attend the first class on July 10th.

On July 6th, the Cannon Falls School of Dance will be at Fun Fest to answer any questions about these camps and fall classes.  Plus, you can see a performance at 6:30 p.m.

Why Join Dance?

One of the parents shared these four pictures from our first recital with us and we couldn’t stop and think these pictures tell the story of why you should join dance.

Ballet 011

From our Level 1 dancers…you learn stage presence, being comfortable in front of crowds and performance skills.  These are skills that last a lifetime.

Ballet 018

Friendships…It’s tough to feel that you fit in at school during your growing years.  The friendships through dance can last a long time.  The level of fun spent with friends at dance can’t be duplicated.

Ballet 019

Poise, grace and self-confidence…through hours of practice and making sure you look great on stage, you will leave the stage knowing that you are beautiful, talented and are a specially gifted person.

Ballet 023

Changing your attitude from “I can’t do that!” into “If I work really hard, I can do this!”  We have seen our dancers grow throughout the years learning pointe and being able to do the splits and more when they first started it seemed like a pipe dream of something that never could be…today, it’s something they achieved by dancing.
