Ballet is offered in two classes: Beginning Ballet and Ballet II. Beginning Ballet is for dancers who are just getting started in ballet, and this class will be focusing on the main positions and basic moves. Ballet II is for dancers who have been in a beginner ballet class and are looking for more. This class focuses on balance and stamina, while also advancing ballet techniques. Dancers are to come to class with a leotard and tights, as well as ballet slippers and hair tied out of the face. This class is taught by Elizabeth Peterson.
Clogging
Clogging is a fun activity for the whole family! This is a great class if you are looking for something fun to do as a family, a fun social activity, or just wanting to get out and try a new sport. This class will provide great exercise and stress relief in a no pressure, fun atmosphere! No previous dance experience needed. Grab your friends and family and come on the dance floor with us as we work on the basic steps and a few routines all while having a great time.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that slide easy. Clogging shoes or buck tap glue on can make the dance experience more fun! Taught by Nikki Greene.
Modern Dance
Modern dance is a broad style that focuses on expression of movement rather than a rigid set of rules. This class will introduce modern dance concepts like exploring space, expansion and contraction, fall and recovery, suspension, connections between the body’s core and extremities, floor work, and improvisation. Taught by Jenny Svennes.
