Tell Me A Story: Peter & The Wolf Performances (photos)

At our school, you learn in a class setting and apply those skills in a performance.  One of the best ways to grow those live performance skills is by joining our Community Performance Troupe.

These photos show the dancers in this Troupe performing with a live orchestra in front of an audience of about 150 people in Cannon Falls and Northfield.  We also included the photos of the dancers receiving flowers for a job well done – a long running tradition of dance.

Many hours of practice, combined with community and family support made it all possible.  We are very proud of each and every one of the dancers and the poise they showed on stage.  We heard many positive comments about the performance.

Tell Me A Story: Family Concert (Backstage Photos)

We had two incredible performances with the CVRO for the Tell Me Story Concert.  In this photo set, we gathered some “rare” and “behind the scenes” shots that you couldn’t see on stage.

Every dancer needs to warm-up before a performance.  The ballerinas used this portable barre in the locker room making sure they were “ready-to-go”.

Pictured Board President Sara, holding the masks made by the students of Brett Zimmerman’s Cannon Falls Middle School art class.  Also, Ashley and the cast of Peter & The Wolf going over last minute details before taking the stage with the CVRO (live orchestra).

Time for some smiles and relaxing before the first performance at the Northfield Middle School.

Catching the creative idea exchange between Ashley and Phillip (grandfather and narrator) in the Cannon Falls music room.

Ashley, Anna and Cassidy doing “a walk through” without any music.

Anna making sure the branch is sturdy.  We will paint the base black for the performances so it blends in with the stage.

Our duck, Meagan, testing out the pool so that it’s the right height and size.

In this scene, our bird (Frannie) and duck (Meagan) talked about who has it better…someone that can fly or swim.

Our cat, Vanessa, tries to sneak up and catch the bird.

Now, enters the wolf (Cassidy) ready to cause trouble while the cat, Peter and the bird find safety in the tree.

Watch out wolf!  Here comes the huntsman (Meagan)!!

These scenes are more will be on display Sunday March 6th  3 p.m. (Cannon Falls High School Auditorium).  It will be a great – can’t miss family concert.
